2025 NFL Draft massive top 5 shakeup

The NFL Draft process is heating up. The East-West Shrine Game was played Thursday night, with the Senior Bowl set for Saturday. Mock drafts are seeing plenty of movement ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Eric Edholm of NFL.com recently released his first mock draft for 2025. Edholm projects an EDGE rusher to go No. 1 overall, with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders not being drafted until the No. 7 overall pick.

Here is Edholm’s full updated 2025 NFL mock draft as January comes to an end:

1. Tennessee Titans – Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State

Abdul Carter has seen his stock rise in recent weeks and is now squarely in the mix to go No. 1 overall. The Penn State EDGE had 23.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks this past season, while forcing a pair of fumbles.

Carter also played through pain in the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup against Notre Dame and was still dominant, recording five tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. He could be a key piece of the Titans defense for years to come.

2. Cleveland Browns – Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado

Two-way star Travis Hunter is projected to be selected No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns, per NFL.com. The Heisman Trophy winner was dominant at wide receiver and cornerback for Colorado and is expected to be a weapon on both sides of the ball in the NFL.

Offensively, Travis Hunter totaled 1,258 yards and a Big 12-leading 15 touchdowns in 2024. As a defensive back, he added 36 tackles and four interceptions. He would bring a unique skillset to the Browns.

3. New York Giants – Cam Ward, QB, Miami

The New York Giants need a quarterback at No. 3, and Edholm has them selecting Miami QB Cam Ward No. 3 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Ward had a monster season at Miami after transferring from Washington State, leading the nation with 39 passing touchdowns while totaling 4,313 yards and just seven interceptions.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll has to be intrigued by the idea of Ward throwing to star receiver Malik Nabers, who had a monster rookie season for the Giants. Ward would instantly bring some excitement to the Giants franchise.

4. New England Patriots – Mason Graham, DL, Michigan

Mason Graham was a dominant force the past two seasons at Michigan, earning All-American honors in 2023 and 2024, including being a unanimous first-team selection this past season. He was also a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy and Outland Trophy.

Graham finished with 45 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks this past season, plugging up the middle for the Michigan defense. New Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has a defensive background and would likely love to add a player like Graham in the 2025 NFL Draft.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars – Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

NFL.com has another Penn State player coming off the board in the top 5 as Eric Edholm has tight end Tyler Warren heading to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Warren did a little bit of everything for the Penn State offense in 2024, catching 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns, rushing for 218 yards and four touchdowns and even passing for a score.

He would provide Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence another weapon and be a versatile piece for new head coach Liam Coen to draw up plays for.

6. Las Vegas Raiders – Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

NFL.com has former Boise State star running back Ashton Jeanty coming off the board at No. 6 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, landing with Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Jeanty finished second in the Heisman race this past season after rushing for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns. He would add more fire power to a Raiders offense that has one of the brightest young stars in the NFL in tight end Brock Bowers.

7. New York Jets – Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is being talked about as a potential No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, but NFL.com has him sliding to No. 7 and landing with the New York Jets. Sanders was the most accurate passer in the country this past season.

He’s coming off the best year of his career at Colorado, completing 74% of his passes for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns. With Aaron Rodgers’ status up in the air, drafting Sanders would make some sense.

8. Carolina Panthers – Jalon Walker, EDGE, Georgia

The Carolina Panthers could use some help on both sides of the ball and may want to get quarterback Bryce Young another weapon. However, instead, NFL.com has the Panthers selecting Georgia EDGE Jalon Walker at No. 8 overall.

Walker recorded 60 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks this past season, winning the Butkus Award given to the nation’s top linebacker. He could step in and fill an immediate need for the Panthers.

9. New Orleans Saints – Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

NFL.com has former Arizona star Tetairoa McMillan landing with the New Orleans Saints with the No. 9 overall pick. McMillan is the first true wide receiver that Edholm has coming off the board.

Tetairoa McMillan ranked third in the nation with 1,319 receiving yards to go with eight touchdowns in 2024. He would be a top option for Saints quarterback Derek Carr. New Orleans has yet to hire a head coach, though, and he will likely have a say in who is drafted.

10. Chicago Bears – Will Campbell, OL, LSU

The Chicago Bears need to protect quarterback Caleb Williams and Will Campbell would certainly help do that. The versatile offensive lineman could start at multiple positions for the Bears.

Campbell anchored the LSU offensive line this past season while becoming a consensus All-American. He would be a solid addition for Chicago with the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
