2025 NFL Draft order updated after Week 15
The 2025 NFL Draft is five months away and several teams eliminated from playoff contention will soon turn their attention to the first-round set to take place outside Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
And with just three weeks remaining in the 2024 season, the New York Giants own the No. 1 overall pick. The rest of the current top 10 includes some of the more notable underachievers this season, including the New York Jets and Chicago Bears.
2025 NFL Draft order: Week 16 edition
- New York Giants (2-12)
- Las Vegas Raiders (2-12)
- New England Patriots (3-11)
- Carolina Panthers (3-11)
- Tennessee Titans (3-11)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (3-11)
- Cleveland Browns (3-11)
- New York Jets (4-10)
- Chicago Bears (4-10)
- New Orleans Saints (5-9)
The Giants are no strangers to picking near the top of the draft, owning a top 10 pick on nine occasions since the turn of the century. New York has not had the No. 1 pick since 1965 when running back Tucker Frederickson was selected out of Auburn. In all likelihood, the Giants will be picking a signal-caller, perhaps one of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Miami’s Cam Ward.
Quarterback needy teams aplenty in 2025 NFL Draft
New York last drafted a quarterback in the first round in 2019, Daniel Jones the pick. Jones led the Giants to a playoff appearance in 2022 but was released last month. Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito and Tim Boyle have also taken snaps under center this season with little success to show for it.

Six quarterbacks were taken in the first round of last year’s draft, and based on the top 10 as things stand, up to six teams could be in the market this time around (Giants, Raiders, Titans, Browns, Jets, Saints). It’s been well-documented, however, that the strength of this draft class does not lie with the quarterback position. Aside from Sanders and Ward, there’s no consensus on which quarterbacks could go in the first round.
That should make for quite an intriguing first-round of the 2025 NFL Draft which takes place on April 24.
