2025 NFL Draft: QBs fall in ESPN first 2-round mock draft, predictions for picks 1-64
On3

ESPN released its first two-round NFL Mock Draft for 2025 and predictions for picks No. 1 all the way to 64 at the end of the second round.

Quarterbacks fell in this one and there was some shifting in thinking for the latest predictions. We’re now a little less than three months away from the 2025 NFL Draft, so let’s dive into ESPN’s latest predictions, via Matt Miller.

This includes a bit of a surprise with the No. 1 overall pick.

1. Tennessee Titans: Abdul Carter, EDGE – Penn State

A change here as the Titans go for arguably the best defender in the draft. Carter is a game wrecker off the edge, in a similar vein to Micah Parsons.

Instead of a QB, beef up the defense. That’s Miller’s logic in this mock draft with Carter going No. 1 overall and he might be worthy of the pick.

2. Cleveland Browns: Travis Hunter, WR/CB – Colorado

Hunter was this year’s Heisman winner, playing both ways, and he has no plans of stopping. The Browns need a lot, so you might as well kill two birds with one stone.

A lot of mock drafts don’t have Hunter going No. 1 overall, but it’s easy to make the case he’s next up. The question is how will he settle into the NFL at, maybe, one position? And which one?

3. New York Giants: Cam Ward, QB – Miami

With all QBs still available, the Giants can get Ward here with the No. 3 pick. New York needs a reset and they’ll get, arguably, the best QB in the draft.

It’ll be interesting to see the ripple effect in Miller’s mock draft with Ward going three and not seeing a quarterback needy team up for a few picks.

4. New England Patriots: Mason Graham, DT – Michigan

The Patriots could beef up the OL or weapons around Drake Maye, but why not get a game changer in the middle of the defensive line? Graham is that type of player.

Graham helped Michigan win a national title in 2023 and was one of their best players this past season. So, this mock draft has him in the top five.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Will Johnson, CB – Michigan

Johnson might be the best pure corner in this class and this mock draft has him in the top five to bolster the Jags defense. Like Graham, Johnson helped win a national title in 2023.

He was hampered by injuries in 2024, limiting him to basically half of the season. Still, it’d be hard to pass him up since he’d be the top player on the board at this point.

6. Las Vegas Raiders: Shedeur Sanders, QB – Colorado

Here’s the next quarterback and it all worked out! Sanders, in this mock draft anyway, is off to Vegas to play for Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly.

Sanders was one of the best quarterbacks statistically over the course of his Colorado career and should get some solid coaching if he ends up here. Maybe it’s destiny for the son of Coach Prime.

7. New York Jets: Will Campbell, OT/G – LSU

Whether it’s Aaron Rodgers or another QB (spoiler alert for the second round), the Jets need to protect their signal caller. Campbell is regarded as the top offensive lineman in this mock draft.

He was a stud the moment he arrived at LSU and that should translate. He can play multiple positions across the line, making him very versatile.

8. Carolina Panthers: Jalon Walker, EDGE – Georgia

Time to get a good ole Georgia pass rusher. Bryce Young seems to have settled in at QB and there’s promise in Carolina.

So this mock draft has the Panthers beefing up the defense with what looks like a Day 1 starter as a rookie. Don’t let him get out of the top 10!

9. New Orleans Saints: Teteiroa McMillan, WR – Arizona

Whatever direction this offense goes, they’re going to need weapons. McMillan fits the bill in this mock draft.

But the biggest issue is, is it Derek Carr, Spencer Rattler? Someone else? And heck, who is going to be the Saints’ head coach?

10. Chicago Bears: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT/G – Texas

The Bears need to protect Caleb Williams and if new head coach Ben Johnson is smart, he’ll draft Banks. Other than Campbell, Banks is the best offensive lineman in the class.

This mock draft also has him as a top 10 pick, so he won’t last past the next team. Make sure your franchise QB is upright!
