2025 NFL Draft: Quinshon Judkins heads to restroom, mom answers phone as Browns call

After the Cleveland Browns selected Quinshon Judkins in the 2025 NFL Draft, general manager Andrew Berry tried to call him. However, Judkins wasn’t there – and his mom answered the phone in a hilarious moment as the former Ohio State star ran to the restroom.
The Browns selected Judkins with the No. 36 overall pick in the second round of the draft. That means he will stay in the state of Ohio after helping lead Ohio State to a national championship this past season following his transfer from Ole Miss.
But when Cleveland officials tried to call him to congratulate him, Judkins was in the restroom. His family answered the phone, though, and it’s safe to say the Browns enjoyed meeting the rest of the crew.
Judkins was part of a two-headed monster in the Ohio State backfield after transferring from Ole Miss, splitting carries with fellow second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson. He led the Buckeyes with 14 tackles while adding 1,060 yards on the ground to go with 161 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Prior to his arrival in Columbus, Judkins had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at Ole Miss. He burst onto the scene as a freshman in 2022 when he led the SEC with 1,567 yards and 16 touchdowns to anchor the Rebels’ rushing attack. He followed that up with a league-leading 15 touchdowns along with 1,158 yards before entering the transfer portal.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins was the perfect complement to TreVeyon Henderson, who’s faster and viewed as a better receiver out of the backfield. That said, Judkins has the burst and style to get outside the tackle box and rattle off big-time runs, according to NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein. That’s why he could become a three-down back at the next level.
“Judkins is a productive runner possessing good size and great contact aggression. His running style is both urgent and a bit chaotic. He runs with good burst inside but is more collision-based than wiggle-oriented when maneuvering through the lane. He’s efficient on runs outside the tackle box, but he has a tough time outracing pursuit to create explosive runs,” Zierlein wrote.
“He is wired and built for a heavier carry count and short-yardage success, but the disparity in yards per carry between Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson, despite running behind the same line, is telling. Judkins might need to be paired with a slasher, but he has the ingredients needed to become a three-down RB1.”
