2025 NFL Draft: Titans cancel workout with Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter after Colorado showcase

Friday afternoon, the Tennessee Titans – like many NFL teams – had a strong presence in Boulder. Colorado held its “Ain’t Hard 2 Find” showcase as Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter and others looked to increase their 2025 NFL Draft stock.
Afterward, however, the Titans “respectfully canceled” private workouts with both Sanders and Hunter, according to a report from Todd McShay. That could indicate where Tennessee is leaning with the No. 1 overall pick later this month.
All eyes are on Cam Ward, the Miami quarterback considered by many to be the top quarterback in this year’s draft. Tennessee had a private workout with Ward last week as the franchise continued to show interest in him, and it appears the Titans will not take the same route with Sanders.
With Hunter, though, McShay said he’s hearing more chatter about the Cleveland Browns. The franchise also had a sizable contingent at Colorado’s showcase – a group that also included owner Jimmy Haslam. That, according to ESPN’s Field Yates, could indicate what the Browns think of either Hunter or Sanders.
According to McShay, though, Hunter could be an option at No. 2 for Cleveland. Penn State star pass rusher Abdul Carter is also seen as an option. Carter is also considered one of the top players on the board in this year’s draft, and ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. ranked him as the No. 2 overall player on his latest 2025 NFL Draft Big Board behind Hunter.

McShay’s report about the Titans’ decision to cancel workouts with Sanders and Hunter comes just a few days after ESPN’s Adam Schefter said Sanders might fall out of the Top 3 entirely. Speaking on ESPN’s NFL Draft Countdown, Schefter said the “sense” is the Browns could opt not to select a quarterback and instead go for skill talent.
“Right now, Greeny – just under a month away from the NFL Draft – it sounds increasingly unlikely that Shedeur Sanders would wind up going 2 or 3,” Schefer said. “That is where it would get interesting. The story of the draft then would become, where is Shedeur Sanders going to go?
“Now, I still think the Cleveland Browns are still talking about whether or not they would take Shedeur Sanders. The New York Giants are still talking about whether or not they would take Shedeur Sanders. And it’s always possible that one of these organizations can have a change in philosophy and a shift in their thinking, and come around to Shedeur. But the way that I’m reading it right now is that he doesn’t figure to be either team’s pick right now through the tea leaves.”
