The Los Angeles Rams and Sean McVay went out and got one of the most coveted wideouts in the 2025 offseason version of NFL free agency. According to a report from Ian Rappoport of NFL Network, Davante Adams is headed to the LA Rams. He signed a two-year deal on Sunday worth $46 million, with $26 million guaranteed.

The future Hall of Famer has shown that he can still play at an extremely high level. And did so with the New York Jets this season, when he reunited with Aaron Rodgers. In 11 games with the Jets, Adams hauled in 67 catches for 854 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

The former second-round draft pick had his fifth 1,000-yard receiving season in 2023-2024 with the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams hauled in 103 catches for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns. He managed to do that in the middle of plenty of upheaval from inside the Raiders’ organization.

When the duo of Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams left the Packers, they left as two of the best players in franchise history. The QB ranks No. 1 in career passing touchdowns (475) and second in total yards (59,055), while the wideout is second in receiving scores (73) and fourth in yardage (8,121).

Davante Adams has put himself in a special class

Earlier in the 2021-2022 season, Adams joined some rarified air. The former Packers legend became the sixth player in NFL history with 600+ receptions, 8,000+ receiving yards, and 70+ receiving touchdowns in his first eight seasons.

In checking off all those stat boxes, Adams joined a class of receivers that are all currently or will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: Jerry RiceRandy MossCalvin JohnsonLarry Fitzgerald, and Marvin Harrison.

He has led the NFL in receiving touchdowns twice in his career (2020 and 2022). He’s also been named to the Pro Bowl six times in his career. He should be an incredibly exciting addition to the Rams’ offensive attack with Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, and Kyren Williams.
