2025 NFL Playoff schedule: Divisional Round of postseason revealed
The NFL announced its schedule for the Divisional Round of the 2025 NFL Playoffs. The league shared the news after the Wild Card game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Washington Commanders.
There will be two games on Saturday, Jan. 18 and two games on Sunday, Jan. 19. Here’s a look at the full schedule.
With it being the Divisional Round, NFL fans will see the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions in the playoffs for the first time. Both teams finished with 15-2 records in the regular season, and both look poised to battle each other in the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs are looking to make NFL history this postseason. If they win the championship, they will be the first team in league history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
The Chiefs and Lions ready to make noise in the Divisional Round
“It [would be] legendary,” Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said after the team won last year’s Super Bowl, per ESPN. “No one’s ever done it, and we knew it’s legendary to win back-to-back. I think eight other teams have done it. We had heard it all week. We had talked to the guys [who had gone back-to-back] about it, and we felt like we had the best opportunity that we had ever had to go out there and do that.

“We’ve got to continue to play our best football. We’ll celebrate these next few weeks, and then we’ll get right back at it.”
The Lions are one of the few teams in the NFL who have yet to win a Super Bowl. They came close to reaching the big game last season, losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship.
“You’ve got to set yourself up no different than last year, certain things you gotta do to really make that valid and to make that a reality,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said this past offseason about the team’s championship ambitions, per ESPN. “Ultimately, that’s what we want to do. Now to do that you better win the division.
