2025 NFL Playoff schedule: Updated matchups, results, AFC, NFC brackets
The 2025 NFL playoffs are here, with the journey to New Orleans beginning on Saturday, Jan. 11. Teams are competing for the Lombardi Trophy and will need three or four wins in order to acquire football’s biggest prize.
First up is Wild Card Weekend, with Houston hosting Los Angeles. Six total games are scheduled through Monday night when the Rams and Vikings cap off the festivities.
Two teams are not in action this weekend after earning No. 1 seeds in the respective conferences. Kansas City in the AFC and Detroit in the NFC both went 15-2 and earned first-round byes. Whichever teams are the lowest remaining seeds out of Wild Card Weekend will get to face those two.
Let’s take a look at the remaining AFC and NFC brackets below.
Wild Card Round
AFC: Houston Texans 32, Los Angeles Chargers 12
Game No. 1 of the NFL playoff went in favor of the Houston Texans. Forcing turnovers was the storyline of this game, as Houston intercepted Justin Herbert four times, including a pick-six. After some out there thought Los Angeles would pull off a road win, it’s the Texans advancing in the playoffs once again.
AFC: Baltimore Ravens 28, Pittsburgh Steelers 14
In the lone divisional matchup of the Wild Card round, Baltimore and Pittsburgh entered the contest at one apiece this season. The Ravens will leave with the advantage, taking down their AFC North rival by two touchdowns. Everyone knows the job is not quite done for Baltimore, wanting to play and win three more games.
AFC: Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills
DATE: Jan. 12, 1 p.m. ET, CBS
The first of two rookies to participate in the 2024 NFL Playoffs, Bo Nix will lead Denver to Buffalo. A tough task is head as the Bills have been one of the NFL’s best teams all season. All four Buffalo losses this year came on the road, with their loss home loss being in last year’s Divisional Round vs. Kansas City.
NFC: Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles
DATE: Jan. 12, 4:30 p.m. ET, FOX
Injured quarterbacks have been the storyline heading into this game, with Jalen Hurts and Jordan Love having their respective issues. Both are expected to play on Sunday, setting up for what could be one of the Wild Card round’s best matchups.

NFC: Washington Commanders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
DATE: Jan, 12, 8 p.m. ET, NBC
2005 was the last time Washington won a playoff game. Joe Gibbs was the team’s head coach and Mark Brunell was the starting quarterback. This is the fifth appearance for the Commanders since then, under three different names too, hoping to finally break through. Tampa Bay will certainly look to extend that drought, making a fourth consecutive playoff appearance.
NFC: Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Rams
DATE: Jan. 13, 8 p.m. ET, ESPN/ABC
While Los Angeles will be the designated home team, this game will not be played at SoFi Stadiums. The devastating fires in the LA area forced Glendale, AZ to host a playoff matchup. Waiting an extra day will be required too, with kickoff scheduled for Monday night.
Divisional Round
AFC: TBD at Kansas City Chiefs
DATE: TBD
Hosting playoff games in Kansas City is nothing new. Patrick Mahomes has made the AFC Championship game every year since taking over as the starter, already having three Super Bowls. The Chiefs are bundled up at home, awaiting their opponent.
NFC: TBD at Detroit Lions
DATE: TBD
This is the first time Detroit has ever been the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. Taking down Minnesota on the final game of the regular season meant Dan Campbell‘s squad would have home-field advantage throughout instead of playing on the road.
