2025 NFL Scouting Combine: Simulcam overlays Isaiah Bond, Matthew Golden and Xavier Worthy 40-yard dash amid trash talk

A Texas wide receiver stole headlines at last year’s NFL Combine due to the 40-yard Dash. Xavier Worthy set the all-time record with a 4.21 official time. It worked him into the first round of the draft, being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Well, two more Longhorns are currently in Indianapolis with the hopes of showing out. One in particular, Isaiah Bond, was quite confident he would break Worthy’s record when speaking to the media on Friday. But Matthew Golden wound up beating his former teammate and neither made any kind of history.
NFL Network put together a simulcast of the three Texas stars, with the podium reading Worthy (4.21), Golden (4.3), then Bond (4.4). Speed any college football coach would dream about, Steve Sarkisian had it at his disposal over the last two seasons.
You can check out the full simulcast of the Texas receivers here.
The simulcast might be a little bit of a troll toward Bond. He was quite confident in breaking the record coming into the day. When speaking to the media, Bond made his intentions quite clear. The goal was to not just break the record but potentially have his second number be one.
“I’m going to break the record tomorrow, for sure. I anticipate running 4.20 or possibly if I’m feeling great, I might run 4.1,” Bond said, via Clarence Hill Jr. of All City DLLS.

He continued — “I’ve been running my whole life,” Bond said, per Todd Archer of ESPN. “I’ve been one of the fastest my whole life so I’m going to go out there and when practice meets preparation, greatness is achieved. So, I’m just going to trust my training and put on a show.”
Plenty of people tuned in for the event, including Worthy himself. The now-Kansas City wide receiver took to social media for his reaction.
Let’s just say Worthy remains quite confident in his abilities.
“There’s fast then there’s me,” Worthy said via X.
At the end of the day, it’s a friendly competition between three players who all found success in Texas uniforms at times. Golden has a great chance of being a first-round pick, similar to Worthy. Bond is working to increase his NFL Draft stock and could hear his name called on Day 2 from Green Bay.
Whoever winds up with Golden and Bond will be acquiring some certified speed with numbers to prove it.
