This week, Netflix dropped its behind-the-scenes documentary on some of the NFL’s top receivers from the 2023 season, including 49ers tight end George Kittle. On top of following San Francisco’s path to Super Bowl LVIII, the Netflix crew also captured one of Kittle’s viral stunts, which ended up costing him several thousand dollars.

On Kittle’s 30th birthday, the former Iowa star had one of the best games of his career against NFC rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. He posted four catches, three going for touchdowns, and celebrated by showing off a t-shirt under his jersey that read: “F*** Dallas.”

Kittle had the shirts made for all of the 49ers tight ends before the game, but only he dared to wear it. Having scored three touchdowns, the tight end held back little, but it still shocked some of his teammates. 49ers star Deebo Samuel remarked, “George Kittle’s rude,” while other teammates applauded him. Knowing it would cost him a nice fine from the NFL, he attempted to get his fellow receiver to cover the tag, but Samuel said, “I ain’t got nothing to do with that.”

“Will you pay half?” Kittle asked Samuel. “I’m going to get fined so much money.”

After the fact, the tight end still doesn’t regret a thing. He told the Netflix crew it was worth the fine.

“It was $15,000 and I don’t regret it one bit. Not one bit. And I might do it again if given the opportunity,” he said with a cheeky grin.

Micah Parsons warns Kittle after t-shirt stunt

Kittle’s shirt added insult to injury for the Cowboys who lost 42-10. It was supposed to be a revenge opportunity for Dallas after the 49ers knocked them out of the playoffs last season. After the game, Cowboys star Micah Parsons warned Kittle that what comes around, goes around.

“George Kittle had three touchdowns on us and he posted this thing to IG,” Parsons said on his ‘The Edge’ show. “He said ‘F Dallas.’ I just feel like he’s making it way more personal than it had to be. Kittle is my guy, but Imma say this: laugh now, cry later.”

“We got something for that, just trust,” he continued. “If we see them again, just trust and we gonna put it just like that. I ain’t gonna put too much on it. You gonna make it personal, we can make it personal. That’s cool.”

The two teams didn’t have a chance to meet again in the playoffs with the Cowboys losing to the Packers in the first round.
