A.J. Brown believes Ryan Tannehill can lead the Titans to a Super Bowl

Tennessee Titans receiver A.J. Brown believes he and quarterback Ryan Tannehill are underrated. Brown told NFL.com’s Inside Training Camp that Tannehill is a top 10 quarterback that can take the Titans to a Super Bowl.

“He’s not in the top-10 talk, or whatever; to me, it’s nonsense,” Brown said. “Many games we came back, we fought back, two minutes. Derrick (Henry) doesn’t get the ball every play. Somebody’s got to throw us the ball and he’s very accurate. Anybody who’s sleeping on him is nonsense. But he doesn’t really care about that stuff and neither do we. I think his head is in a good place.”

Ryan Tannehill led Tennessee to an 11-5 record this past season, but lost in the Wild Card to Baltimore. They added Julio Jones in the offseason to give the passing attack another weapon alongside Brown. The Titans made an appearance in the AFC Championship the year prior, losing to eventual champion Kansas City.

Brown, a third-year player out of Ole Miss, finished his first two seasons with at least 1,000 yards receiving. This is even more impressive considering he was battling injuries all last year. He missed only two games, but was limited in most practices, something he feels greatly affected his game.

“I couldn’t really get the reps I wanted in practice,” Brown said. “You want to get the timing down with the quarterback as much as you can. I (was) just going out there on Sunday just doing it, just visualizing.”

The Titans already have a player whom many would regard as the best at his position. Derrick Henry is fresh off of a 2,000-yard rushing season in which he also had 17 touchdowns. Perhaps with the addition of Jones will push the passing game to a similar level.

Ryan Tannehill finished outside of the top 10 quarterbacks in both passing yards and completion percentage this past season. An 8-year veteran, the former Texas A&M Aggie set a career high with 33 touchdowns to just seven interceptions this past season. He now has the best two receivers he has ever played with in the NFL.

The 32-year-old Jones will likely be the No. 2 receiver, while Brown should maintain his No. 1 role. Either way, both Brown and Tannehill are primed for what could be the best season of both of their careers.
