Aaron Jones injury: Vikings RB carted to locker room in 4th quarter vs. Jaguars
In the Vikings matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Minnesota running back Aaron Jones suffered an apparent injury to his side and was carted to the locker room. Before leaving the game, Jones recorded 71 rushing yards on 13 carries.
Jones seemingly suffered the injury when he was crushed between two Jaguars defenders at once. If Jones’ injury keeps him out for an extended period, it will be a significant loss for the Vikings.
Jones entered the game on Sunday with 565 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. Running back Ty Chandler has the second-most rushing yards for the Vikings, with a mere 151.
Jones’ hasn’t only been a threat in the ground game this season. He also boasts 26 catches for 245 yards and a score in the 2024 campaign. This is Jones’ first season with the Vikings. He signed with the organization on March 12 after spending seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
Miles Sanders has to be carted off field after injury
Aaron Jones isn’t the only NFL running back who suffered an injury on Sunday. In the second quarter of the Panthers’ showdown against the New York Giants, Carolina running back Miles Sanders suffered an apparent lower-leg injury and had to be carted off the field. Before leaving the game, Sanders recorded one carry for four rushing yards.

Sanders has been Carolina’s second option in the backfield this season behind Chubba Hubbard. Sanders entered the game on Sunday with 134 yards and a touchdown on 36 carries this season. He’s also hauled in 21 catches for 98 yards.
This is Sanders’ second season with the Panthers. On March 15, 2023, he signed a four-year, $25.4 million contract with the organization. Miles Sanders’ debut campaign with the Panthers wasn’t ideal, as the veteran RB recorded career lows in carries, rushing yards and yards per carry.
The Panthers’ backfield hasn’t been spectacular this season, either. The team is averaging 101.3 rushing yards per game, the eighth-least in the NFL.
