Aaron Rodgers reportedly generating 'little interest' as TV analyst: 'He's insufferable'

As Aaron Rodgers weighs his free agency options, his post-NFL future remains a discussion point. At age 41, speculation continues to grow about when he’ll decide to walk away from the field.
One option could be TV. However, according to a report from Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy, there isn’t much interest in Rodgers as an analyst.
Rodgers has made it clear he intends to play in 2025 even as he hits the other side of 40 years old. But when it comes to a potential career in TV once he eventually retires from the NFL, a source told McCarthy while Rodgers would be “great” in the role, networks wouldn’t seem interested in bringing him board. Rodgers has not publicly said anything about a future TV role.
“Yes, he could be a great analyst,” the source told McCarthy for his Tuned In column. “But he”s insufferable.”
Rodgers’ intelligence is well-noted after his appearances on “Jeopardy!” and he’s done TV interviews with Pat McAfee on his show. “Aaron Rodgers Tuesdays” are a staple during football season, and they continue to create conversation around the league. Those spots are currently on hiatus during the offseason.
That could translate well to television if he wanted to follow the road of Tony Romo or Tom Brady. But McCarthy reported Rodgers has “rubbed many members of the press the wrong way.”

As Rodgers weighs his decision in free agency, McAfee said he hasn’t heard anything from the former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets quarterback. The free agency process is ongoing, and two teams are at the forefront.
The Rodgers sweepstakes is reportedly down to two teams after the Minnesota Vikings backed out of the pursuit, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported. Now, the interested teams include the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants – both of which have made offers to Rodgers, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said.
“I’m told from a source that Aaron Rodgers has standing offers from the Pittsburgh Steelers [and] New York Giants,” Fowler said. “Those appear to be the two key players here. … Rodgers, as far as I know, is still mulling these offers. He’s not made any sort of firm determination yet. I don’t get the sense that this is all about money here. It’s about surroundings. The ability to win. Most people around the league do expect the Steelers to prevail here, as they do have the better on-field option.
Now, with the Vikings all-in on quarterback J.J. McCarthy, two teams remain. As for a timeline for a decision, ESPN’s Adam Schefter said Rodgers is “in no rush at all.”
