Aaron Rodgers injury update: Jets QB reveals extent of ankle issue after loss to Vikings
New York Jets (2-3) quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a low ankle sprain, he told reporters following Sunday’s 23-17 Week 5 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings (5-0) in London.
Rodgers appeared to suffer the injury in the third quarter after his left leg got trapped under Vikings linebacker Jihad Ward on a pressure.
Rodgers was slow getting to his feet and hobbled to the sideline. He made his way to the blue medical tent to be further examined but instead went back onto the field after the Jets’ offensive drive continued following a roughing the punter penalty.
The 40-year-old finished the game, completing 29-of-54 passes for 244 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Aaron Rodgers struggles in Week 5 defeat to Vikings
Rodgers was already banged up coming into the game, limited in practice earlier this week with a knee injury. While that injury didn’t appear to affect him, Brian Flores’ defense did, especially in the first half. Before a touchdown on the final possession of the first half, the Jets’ offense went punt, punt, pick six, interception, turnover on downs, punt.
New York had more success moving the ball in the second half, as well as a chance to win the game in the final minute. Rodgers and the Jets started their final possession on their own 30-yard line with 3:07 left in the fourth quarter. They got as far as Minnesota’s 26-yard line. On third-and-10 with 49 seconds left, Rodgers threw his third interception of the game to Vikings cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
That iced it for Minnesota, delivering New York its second consecutive loss.
“That was below my standard,” Rodgers said.
