After breaking Brett Favre’s franchise record for passing touchdowns on Christmas, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers showed off his new jolly attitude which has appeared during the holiday season. During a postgame interview with FOX’s Erin Andrews, he looked back at the record and more, leading many to speculate more about his future in Green Bay.

Rodgers found Allen Lazard for a touchdown during Saturday’s game against the Cleveland Browns — his 443rd touchdown pass as a Packer. The score officially broke Brett Favre’s franchise record of 442 touchdown passes.

“It’s a lot of touchdowns,” Rodgers said about the record. “Like I said this week, it’s a lot of moments in those touchdowns. And it’s almost apropos that I threw the record-breaker on a double stick, which is a base concept in the west coast offense I learned 17 years ago. That’s just full circle.”

He continued: “I’m very fortunate to have played with the guys I’ve played with, coached by the men I was coached by over the years. I have so much respect and gratitude for this game. I appreciate Brett (Favre) with the shoutout, I got to sit behind a legend for three years and see what greatness looked like first-hand. And that’s an experience that changed my life forever. I’m so fortunate to be able to play here in this stadium with these fans and this great organization for the last 17 years. It’s a longevity record but it’s one that I’m proud of.”

After looking back at his record-setting performance, Aaron Rodgers then took time to count his blessings on Christmas. The veteran signal caller took time to listen as “M-V-P” chants came down from the home fans and he thought about the moment.

“This is what it’s all about, it’s Christmas night at Lambeau,” Rodgers continued to reminisce. “Like I said last week, where would you rather be? It’s a special place and I’m eternally blessed and I don’t lose sight of that. I think that’s the most important thing is as you get older having that perspective of living a life, counting your blessings not the things you don’t have. And I have a lot of blessings here in Green Bay and I’m really thankful to be here.”

Offseason tensions initially led many to believe this could be the final season in Green Bay for Aaron Rodgers and his star wide receiver Davante Adams, but the Fox postgame crew, which includes former Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw, has changed its tune with predictions that he stays on in 2022.
