Aaron Rodgers reveals new details about postseason meetings with Jets executives amid coaching search
As the New York Jets continue their search for a new coach and a new general manager, quarterback Aaron Rodgers waits in the wings, patient to see what happens.
Rogers is toward the end of his career now, clearly, but does he have another year or two in the tank?
The 41-year-old gunslinger was pressed on exactly that topic as he joined The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday afternoon. Rodgers broke down what his meetings with the Jets brass has been like.
“I think everybody understands that it’s going to come down to a GM and a coach and myself and whether we all want to do a dance together or if it’s not in the cards,” Rodgers said.
Aaron Rodgers did note that he met with the Jets owners in the past few weeks to discuss his future. He also provided some general feedback about the organization, something he’s done since arriving in New York.
He broke down what that looks like for a hungry Pat McAfee Show crew.
“I gave some constructive things. There’s always things,” Aaron Rodgers said. “There’s so much that goes into the whole thing. There’s the food part, there’s the locker room, there’s travel, there’s hotel stuff. Different, you’re just giving little constructive things here and there that maybe they take to heart and maybe they don’t.

“But I think there’s always ways to improve, and I was impressed to see that the meeting with Christopher (Johnson) was a lot about that. The meeting with Woody (Johnson) was more about team, future, different things.”
Aaron Rodgers is coming off a nice bounce-back season following a torn Achilles that sidelined him for virtually the entire 2023 season.
He threw for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns, against just 11 interceptions. However, things were a bit of a struggle for the Jets, who finished just 5-12 on the season.
It’ll be interesting to watch things progress as the Jets begin to make hires, knowing the outcome of those moves could well impact whether Aaron Rodgers keeps playing or opts to retire.
