Ahead of a new biography release for Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback revealed new information regarding his “immunized” comments from 2021.

At the height of COVID-19 in sports, Rodgers said he was immunized, not that he was vaccinated or unvaccinated. According to his new biography, written by famed author Ian O’Connor, Rodgers wishes he would’ve handled it differently.

Rodgers was regularly criticized for his alternative treatments for the virus.

“If there’s one thing I wish could have gone different, it’s that, because that’s the only thing [critics] could hit me with,” Rodgers said in the book, via ESPN.

Rodgers later said on The Pat McAfee Show that his personal research and doctor advice showed he was allergic to an ingredient in the vaccine: polyethylene glycol, or PEG. He was also concerned about reports of adverse medical reactions to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

“But if I could do it again, I would have said [in August], f— the appeal,” Rodgers said. “I’m just going to tell them I’m allergic to PEG, I’m not getting Johnson & Johnson, I’m not going to be vaxxed.”

Rodgers also told O’Connor his appeal to the league regarding his “immunization” to COVID-19.

“I had an immunization card from my holistic doctor, which looked similar,” Rodgers said. “I wasn’t trying to pawn it off as a vaccine card, but I said, ‘Listen, here’s my protocol. Here’s what you can follow to look this up.’ And it was an ongoing appeal. So, if I had just said [I was unvaccinated] in the moment, there’s no chance that the appeal would have been handled the exact same way.”

The new book is called Out of the Darkness: The Mystery of Aaron Rodgers and set for a release later this month.

With the book now available for pre-order, fans can read the blurb for a taste of what’s to come:

“As Rodgers launches his comeback and his bid to lead the Jets to a championship, acclaimed sports biographer Ian O’Connor uses hundreds of original interviews to pull back the curtain and answer the most penetrating questions about perhaps the country’s most famous and most enigmatic athlete.

“Just like he did in his previous works on Bill Belichick, Mike Krzyzewski, Derek Jeter, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, O’Connor reveals all sides of an all-time great and delivers a portrait of a complex man and four-time NFL MVP that will forever shape the way football fans view him.”
