Actress Kerry Washington dresses up as Sha'Carri Richardson for Halloween

Many folks go above and beyond for Halloween — be it decorating their yard, giving out the best candy on the block or, of course, having the coolest costume. And actress Kerry Washington came with a strong look this Halloween, dressing up as star U.S. sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson.
On top of getting the Nike running outfit, Washington even got a redhead wig and matching headband to complete the look. She also added an array of (presumably) temporary tattoos to match Richardson’s own ink.
“It’s Sha’Kerry” the actress wrote along with showing off her Halloween costume, along with a gold medal emoji.
The only notable difference? Washington got a runners bib that reads her own name instead of Richardson.
Washington rose to fame for her role as Olivia Pope in the hit ABC series Scandal and starring as Broomhilda von Schaft in Quentin Tarantino’s 2012 film, Django Unchained.
Richardson has risen to prominence as one of the premiere female sprinters in the United States and the world and for her controversial exclusion from the U.S. Olympic team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to a failed drug test that turned up positive for cannabis.
Richardson had a strong showing at the World Championships this summer
Richardson helped take home another medal for herself and the U.S. at the World Athletic Championships in Budapest in August. Anchoring the 400-meter relay, Richardson helped fend off a challenge from the Jamaican team as the United States set a World Championship record time of 41.03.

Richardson anchored the relay for team USA, running the final 100 meters of the race and holding off a challenge from Jamaica. Richardson was given a strong leg up by Gabby Thomas closing strong in the third portion of the relay.
Then it was all Richardson as she took home her third medal in Budapest.
Richardson won gold in the 400-meter relay and 100 meter dash. She also earned a bronze in Budapest.
Richardson ran the 100-meter dash in 10.65 seconds to win the gold medal.
The former LSU standout outlasted Jamaican stars Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson to claim the gold medal, which is the first world title in her career.
The United States claimed both 100 meter victories in Budapest with Noah Lyles winning the men’s race Sunday.
The 23-year-old Richardson is tied with Jackson for the fastest time run by a woman this year at 10.65 seconds. Her 10.65-second run also set the record for fastest run at the World Athletics Championships.
Fraser-Pryce, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in the 100 meters, was the defending world champion.
Two other Americans ran in the 100 meter finals: Brittany Brown and Tamari Davis. Brown finished in seventh place and Davis finished in ninth place.
