Adam Hadwin has hilarious response to getting tackled by security at RBC Canadian Open
Golf became a contact sport for PGA Tour player Adam Hadwin on Sunday. Hadwin tried to celebrate with Nick Taylor after his close friend sank a 72-foot eagle putt to win the RBC Canadian Open in a playoff over Tommy Fleetwood.
However, as he reached the green and got close to Taylor, Hadwin was laid out by a security official.
Hadwin is thankfully doing just fine after the hit, but he revealed that he has no plans of changing sports. NFL receiver Adam Thielen tweeted that Hadwin had asked him before what it feels like to get tackled for a living. Hadwin now knows.
His response to Thielen? “I think I’ll stick to golf!”
That is probably a wise choice for the 35-year-old, who has 12 professional wins, including one on the PGA Tour.
Adam Hadwin has had a good sense of humor about the entire incident.
In addition to tweeting that he would be sticking to golf, Hadwin also tweeted a photo of the security guard tackling him with Taylor in the background and the caption: “Put it in the Louvre!”
There’s no doubt that being tackled by security doesn’t feel great, but it’s good to see that there are no hard feelings.
Hadwin had an excellent tournament at the RBC Canadian Open, finishing tied for 12th at -11. He may need an ice bath after taking the hit but he will be able to go out on the PGA Tour and play another event soon.

Taylor becomes first Canadian to win Canadian Open in 70 years
Taylor made history on Sunday, becoming the first Canadian to win the Canadian Open since 1954. That’s almost a full 70 years a native has gone without claiming the title.
It was an entertaining afternoon on the golf course, with Taylor and Tommy Fleetwood playing four playoff holes before a winner was crowned. Taylor carded an eagle on the 18th hole by sinking a 72-foot putt.
Jim Nantz’s call of the unbelievable putt was second-to-none.
What a moment for Taylor. What a moment for Canada.
Taylor ended the tournament by shooting -17, a pretty impressive feat after carding a +3 during the first round. He quickly recovered, shooting -5 on Friday and lit up the course with a 9-under-par 63 on Saturday. He was -6 during his final 18 holes on Sunday.
With Sunday’s victory in the Canadian Open, Taylor scored his third win on the PGA Tour. This one will probably be his most memorable, and not just because Hadwin got tackled on the green.
