Aaron Rodgers injury update: Adam Schefter discusses Jets QB's 'variety of ailments'
On top of the New York Jets starting off the season with a disappointing 2-5 record, the team’s quarterback Aaron Rodgers is also suffering from a multitude of injuries. Banged up once again following New York’s Sunday Night Football loss to the Steelers ahead of a must-win game against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
On Thursday, NFL insider Adam Schefter provided the latest on Rodgers’ injury status. Giving the details on his multitude of injuries as he’s in the midst of Rodgers’ 20th NFL season at the age of 40.
“Aaron Rodgers is dealing with a handful of injuries – he’s got hamstring, knee, ankle injuries — that’s what happens when you get older and still play this sport,” Schefter said. “He’s banged up right now, but the chance is he is going to play on Sunday at New England, against the Patriots.”
“With the Jets in a tough spot, he has to be out there, they expect him out there, despite the fact that he’s nursing a variety of ailments right now,” Schefter added.

Rodgers is notably coming off of a season-ending Achilles injury he suffered in the first game of last year for the Jets. Sidelining him for the entire 2023 season and his first year with the franchise after being traded from the Green Bay Packers.
New York finished last season 7-10, entering this year with great expectations upon Rodgers’ return to the field. Expectations that have not been met with the Jets sitting at a 4-3 record through seven games last season. Highlighted by struggles on the offensive side of the ball with just 18.3 points per game and Rodgers playing some of the worst football of his career.
Rodgers has thrown for 1,663 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions representing the most of his career since 2010 through seven games. Completing 61.7% of his passes with a career-low 82.2 passer rating. Production that numerous injuries certainly won’t help in improving as he looks get healthy and rally in an attempt to save the Jets season.
