Aaron Rodgers injury update: Adam Schefter offers latest on Jets QB amid concerns
Concern filled the air of MetLife Stadium on Sunday when quarterback Aaron Rodgers limped off the field in the fourth quarter with a leg injury after being sacked in the team’s 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos. But on Monday, NFL insider Adam Schefter provided an update on the star quarterback during ESPN’s SportsCenter
“Well Aaron finished the game, stayed in there, finished the game. Didn’t look great, and you always worry about a quarterback, a veteran quarterback, coming hobbling to the sideline the way he did when he left in the fourth quarter there,” Schefter said.
“Brief examination of his leg, same leg with the torn Achilles,” he added. “So that’s worrisome and problematic. But again, the sense is they go to London this week, play a tough Vikings defense, and unless doctors find something, the sense that he would be out there this week.”
Rodgers notably missed the entirety of the 2023 season after tearing his Achilles on the first possession of his first career start for the Jets. An injury that was on the back of everyone’s mind when he was slow to get up after being sacked for the fourth time on Sunday in a loss where he was sacked five times and took 14 QB hits.

His ginger walk off the field led to the 40-year-old being evaluated by trainers and having both legs stretched out before returning to the game. With head coach Robert Saleh saying Rodgers was “fine” after the game and likely just going through some wear and tear. Something that Rodgers himself cosigned after the loss.
“Banged up a little bit, but I’m okay,” Rodgers said.
Rodgers completed 24 of his 42 pass attempts on Saturday for 225 yards in what was a poor performance from New York’s offense. Failing to score a single touchdown in Sunday’s game as rain poured down on the Meadowlands. Picking up 13 penalties for 90 yards in their first home loss of the season.
Along with having a healthy Rodgers, the Jets will hope to get back on track in London. Where they face the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET inside of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
