AFC Championship odds: Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs betting lines released
The Buffalo Bills will face the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, and the betting lines have been released. Per DraftKings, the Chiefs enter the game as a 1.5-point favorite over the Bills. The over/under is set at 49.5, and the moneylines are set for both teams (Bills at -105, Chiefs at -115).
The Kansas City Chiefs are playing in their seventh consecutive AFC Championship game and looking to be the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls. On Saturday night, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 177 yards and one touchdown to lead Kansas City over the Houston Texans 23-14 in the Divisional Round playoff game. His favorite target was tight end Travis Kelce who caught seven passes for 117 yards and one TD.
“Big-time players make big-time plays in big-time games. . . . This is Playoff Trav,” Mahomes said of Kelce after the game, per Pro Football Talk. “He’s a leader, man. This is what he lives for, is playing in these moments, having the chance to make big-time plays. He goes out there and does that, and it seems like he does it in every single playoff game.”
One of the reasons the Chiefs are having another successful season is the play of the defense. Kansas City finished the 2024 regular season ninth in total defense (320.6 yards allowed per game) and fourth in scoring defense (19.2 points allowed per game).
More on the AFC Championship game
“They’re good players that love to play the game,” head coach Andy Reid said after the game on Saturday when asked about the play of the defense against the Texans, per NFL.com. “We’re sitting here, it’s that time of the year, guys stepped up and did just a nice job. Spags puts them in position to be able to do that and then they take advantage of that, that’s how that goes.”

The Chiefs will play in their eighth AFC title game in team history. Since Mahomes has taken over as the Chiefs starting QB, he has played in six conference title games (will play in his seventh next Sunday) and has appeared in four Super Bowls with three Super Bowl wins.
“Everybody’s winners on this team and I think that’s what makes us special,” Mahomes said. “So, it doesn’t always have to be an offensive explosion, it doesn’t always have to be the defense locking it down, it’s just who can find a way to get a win and how can we do that? I think that’s what makes us a special football team and we’ll try to carry that into next week.”
The Chiefs and Bills will battle in the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons. Kansas City has won all three matchups, including the AFC Championship game during the 2020 season.
The AFC Championship game will kick off on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
