Aidan Hutchinson injury update: Prognosis, next steps revealed on Lions star
Detroit Lions star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson suffered a broken tibia, a gruesome injury that occurred after his left leg was rolled up on by another player during a game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The team announced the nature of the injury on Sunday night.
Hutchinson underwent immediate surgery at a Dallas-area hospital, helping to stabilize the injury. He will remain in Dallas while the team returns home, getting further medical assistance from doctors.
Lions coach Dan Campbell also provided a postgame update on Aidan Hutchinson’s status.
“He’s in good hands right now. He’s being taken care of,” Campbell said. “He’ll stay back here, and obviously he’s going to be down for a little while. So that’s tough, man. It’s hard when you lose someone like him. But we’ll know a lot more after this and obviously wish him the best.”
Hutchinson exited a game against the Dallas Cowboys in the third quarter after his leg was rolled up on by another player and seemingly buckled under the weight of the impact.
He was carted off the field, left leg in an air cast, and players from both teams came over to show him some love before he departed.

His loss will be a significant one for Detroit.
