AJ Allmendinger and wife Tara announce birth of firstborn son
While AJ Allmendinger and his wife Tara had to wait, their son was born this Thursday morning ahead of the Kansas weekend. The NASCAR driver has been talking about his wife’s pregnancy for more than a few weeks now, waiting for the day that their son would arrive.
Aero James Allmendinger was born at 11:31 a.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2023. The Cup Series driver is now a dad and according to him, mom and baby are both “doing amazing.” This is an exciting time for the Allmendigner family for sure.
You have to think that AJ Allmendinger will be thinking about little “AJ” Aero James back home this weekend. Maybe it will give him a boost in the Hollywood Casino 400.
“It might have taken a bit longer than we expected, but [Tara] and I are so thrilled to have our little boy,” Allmendinger tweeted. “Aero James Allmendinger finally [arrived] into our family at [11:31 AM] this morning. Momma and baby are doing amazing. Thank you to everyone that was so positive through this.”
That is probably the perfect name for the son of AJ Allmendinger. Aero James, little AJ, will figure out soon enough what his dad has done behind the wheel of various cars and series in his career. The Dinger might have to pull up highlights in a few years to show Aero, but there will be plenty to see.
Unfortunately, life comes at you fast as a NASCAR driver. Allmendinger will be racing in just a few days in Kansas.

AJ Allmendinger racing as a dad for the first time
This is a big time for babies in NASCAR. Not only is AJ Allmendinger a dad for the first time, but Ryan Preece welcomed his firstborn just before the end of the regular season, a daughter. Perhaps the two can talk about the stress of their newfound fatherhood.
They aren’t the only ones welcoming children to the world lately. Future Legacy Motor Club driver John Hunter Nemechek and his wife had their second daughter at the end of August. A very busy time for dads in NASCAR.
Kansas will be the first time that AJ Allmendinger races as a dad. For the Kaulig Racing driver, the future isn’t certain as far as his racing career is concerned. However, there is now a new constant, his son.
I’m sure we will hear just how excited Allmendinger is and just how little sleep he’s going to get leading up to Sunday’s race.
