Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon can add a new accomplishment to his resume Tuesday: children’s book author. Dillon’s children’s book Quadzilla Finds His Footing was released Tuesday to the public and the Packers also hosted a book launch party for Dillon at Lambeau Field.

“Quadzilla Finds His Footing is a children’s book written by Green Bay Packers running back A.J. Dillon, centered on a the fictional ‘Quadzilla’ character,” the book’s summary on the Green Bay Packers shop website reads. “Quadzilla loves spending time with his monster friends but gets discouraged when he struggles to do their favorite activities. To cheer him up, his friends invite him to try a new game — football! Quadzilla Finds His Footing is an uplifting story about trying new things, even if it isn’t easy.”

The book is available in both hardcover and paperback. It is illustrated by Summer Morrison.

Among those who provided blurbs for the book on the Orange Hat Publishing website was Dillon’s former teammate and Packers legend Randall Cobb.

Quadzilla Finds His Footing is a reminder that we all have different abilities and it’s important to have friends that help us find our strengths. I can’t wait to share these life lessons with my boys,” Cobb said in his blurb.

Quadzilla is a nickname for Dillon, who was drafted out of Boston College in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Green Bay.

With the Eagles, he was a three-time All-ACC first-team running and 2017 ACC Rookie of the Year. Dillon finished his career with 4,382 rushing yards — a school record — over 35 games in three seasons. He never finished a season with under 1,000 yards or less than 10 touchdowns.

Dillon has been a valuable reserve for the Packers the last three seasons, including spending the last two as the backup to Aaron Jones. The running back carried the ball 187 times for 803 yards in 2021 and 186 times for 770 yards in 2022.

He said that the impending birth of his son, who was born on May 2, was the spark that inspired him to write the book.

“Although the story of my career and what I continue to do off the field hasn’t been written yet, I thought it’d be a great project for the offseason,” Dillon told packers.com, “and something that I’ll be able to share with him and hopefully pass along the story of Quadzilla throughout our family for years to come.”
