AJ Green praises DeAndre Hopkins and Kyler Murray
Former Cincinnati Bengals receiver, AJ Green, praised DeAndre Hopkins and Kyler Murray earlier in the week when he spoke with NFL Network’s Willie McGinest. The Arizona Cardinals’ newly acquired receiver turned 33 last week. As the seven-time pro-bowler continues to age he remains on a shortlist of names that are considered one of the best receivers of the last decade.
Optimistic outlook from Green
Although, Green is only getting older and previously missed the 2019 season due to an ankle injury. In the 2020 season, he recorded 47 catches for 523 yards and two touchdowns. Compared to the standard Green has set for the past decade, those numbers aren’t his usual brand of production.
Green believes with the relocation and new supporting cast it will allow him to elevate to the heights he once had annually obtained. Green told McGinest a change in quarterback will pay immediate dividends and it didn’t take long for him to realize, citing a snap from his first practice with Kyler Murray, who hit him on a deep post.
“I was like, man I haven’t seen one of those things in a while,” Green said, via NFL Network. “His arm talent is unbelievable.”
A.J. Green praises Hopkins and Murray
The Cardinals are gearing up to have multiple weapons in their wide receiver corps. This group while older in age is an accomplished group with multiple NFL accolades to their name due to Hopkins and Green. Since being drafted in 2011, Green has made the All-Pro second team a total of three times while also being named to the Pro Bowl on seven occasions. Meanwhile, since coming into the league two years after Green, Hopkins has been selected to the All-Pro first team three times, the All-Pro second team twice and made five Pro Bowls. Those resumes speak for themselves but Green did some talking as well. He believes the pair have the potential to be the best duo in the league.

When McGinest asked if they’re the best wideout duo in the league, Green responded in the affirmative.
“Yeah, of course. Of course,” he said. “I’m putting that out there. Nobody has done what me have D-Hop have done, and been on the same team. Nobody has done what we’ve done personally. Bring us together, I think it’s going to be fun.”
Green is rejuvenated and ready to prove any new doubters wrong. Ultimately when A.J. Green praises Hopkins and Murray emphasizes how fond he is of this team and his true belief in their potential to make an impact this 2021 season and lead the Arizona Cardinals back into the playoffs but for the first time in the Kyler Murray-Kliff Kingsbury-era.
