AJ Hawk says Raiders are a 'real possibility' to land Aaron Rodgers
As the NFL offseason prolongs, the possibility of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers finding a new home seems more and more realistic. Rodgers’ relationship with the Packers organization as of late has been hard to gauge, but NFL insider Adam Schefter recently reported that a trade involving Rodgers is a “real possibility”
Rodgers recently competed in the pro-am golf tournament at Pebble Beach and took home the win alongside Ben Silverman. His performance on the course was impressive, but it came with some ovations from fans of different NFL teams attempting to persuade Rodgers to quarterback their teams next season.
Rodgers said in an interview at the tournament that the Las Vegas Raiders fans were heard the most, and former Packers linebacker AJ Hawk spoke on the Patt McAfee Show about his performance at Pebble Beach and the odds of him wearing the silver and black next season.
“I mean I was impressed that he won the tournament, I think he even said afterwards this is a big deal for me to to win this thing and I know people want to go out there and just make the cut a lot of times,” Hawk said. “And he not only made the cut, he found a way to win the tournament and if people give him a hard time for being a 10 handicap, if they accepted it, why are you giving him a hard time? If they would’ve invited me I’s say I’m a 29.”
There’s no question that Rodgers’ performance on the course was impressive, but could he also impress in Allegiant Stadium next season for the Raiders?

“But the Raiders feel like a real possibility even more now than before I guess listening to him and how all the fans love him and everyone out there. And the Raiders need a quarterback, right? So why wouldn’t they make a play at Aaron Rodgers?” Hawk asked. “I know I would.”
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is expected to part ways with the team this season, as he didn’t start the last two games of the season for Las Vegas and has been given permission by the franchise to speak with other teams. Rodgers’ former wide receiver teammate Davante Adams is also a member of the Raiders. The duo celebrated some of the best seasons of their careers together in 2020 and 2021, with Rodgers winning back to back MVPs and Adams having career high seasons in receptions.
Adams has already vocalized that he’s on board with a reunion with Rodgers in Las Vegas, but only time will tell if the duo will meet again in Sin City.
