A'ja Wilson uses hilarious NSFW language for Kahleah Copper after winning gold vs. France
On Sunday, US women’s basketball defeated France in nail-biting 67-66 fashion to secure its eighth-straight gold medal in the event. A’ja Wilson led the way for the Americans, tallying a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds while adding four blocks, as well.
However, Wilson was far from the only American to step up under the spotlight. Kahleah Copper was also spectacular, notching 12 points and five rebounds. After the game, Wilson had two simple words to describe her Team USA teammate.
“That b*tch,” Wilson said with a smirk.
Wilson and Copper aren’t on the same team in the WNBA but meshed perfectly together at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Team USA now boasts 61 straight Olympic victories in women’s basketball since 1992. In total, U.S. women’s basketball has a 74-3 all-time record in the Olympics.
Despite Team USA’s historic dominance, its victory wasn’t always obvious on Sunday. France outscored the U.S. 16-10 in the second period to tie the game at 25 heading into halftime. During the break, four-time Olympic gold medalist Lisa Leslie said that she was “shocked” by the first-half turnout by Team USA.
No American scored more than six points during the first two quarters. Team USA was led by Wilson’s six points and nine rebounds on 2-of-9 shooting at the time. Nonetheless, thanks to Wilson’s clutch performance down the stretch, Team USA walked away with the gold.
A’ja Wilson reflects on bringing home gold again
“It’s amazing,” Wilson said. “It truly is. The dynasty that we have built here at USAB has been incredible. I’m so proud and blessed to be a part of it. But, God was working today. God was working today. I’m so proud of the resilience that my team showed.

“We could have fumbled. We could’ve fumbled at many times, but we pulled through and just to say that I’m a two time gold medalist — I’m so blessed. Oh my God, and he was working today, man.”
Wilson wasn’t the only one proud of Team USA’s performance. Wilson’s former coach at South Carolina, Dawn Staley, was in attendance for the victory and showered Wilson with praise after the game.
“I wasn’t coaching. I was cheering,” Staley said. “I was just trying to help them. Pour into them. Make them make some good basketball plays to open this lead. France played incredibly. They fed off the crowd. I think the crowd was louder today than it was last night. Gabby Williams played her heart out. But, at end of the day, we had A’ja Wilson and they didn’t.
“I know A’ja wishes she can get back some of those missed free throws, probably the entire team. But, when it was time to make a play, she made a play. She hit a free throw.”
