Brandon Miller reveals NBA player he models his game after

Brandon Miller has been compared to a ton of guys currently in the NBA but none more so than Los Angles Clippers forward Paul George. The two share a resemblance that excites scouts in the league, potentially even taking Miller with the No. 2 overall. If you are able to grab somebody with the potential of George, NBA teams would be ecstatic.

To make the comparison even better, Miller recently revealed he tries to model his game after George. But not the George we have seen recently with Los Angeles and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Miller likes to go back even further, talking about George when he was on the Indiana Pacers.

“I kind of study Paul George,” Miller said. “I model my game after his just with my own twist to it… and perfected it. I like more of the Indiana Pacers PG, the 360 windmill PG. Current PG, he’s nice. But I think prime PG is Indiana Pacers PG.”

George earned four All-Star appearances while in Indiana, thriving to begin his career. After being selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, George has just completed his 13th complete season.

If Miller can come even a tad close to replicating what George has personally accomplished, his NBA career would be considered a success.

Miller decided to leave Tennessee coming out of high school and head south to play for Alabama. Head coach Nate Oats plays a certain style of basketball in Tuscaloosa, asking everybody on the team to have a selfless mindset. Even for somebody such as Miller who was clearly the best player on the court at times.

Now, Miller plans on taking what he learned under Oats and applying it to the NBA. Players would get the Hard Hat Award at Alabama for making certain types of plays. Miller will not receive that at the next level but still wants to apply it to his game.

“One part of my game that I take pride in is the defensive side,” Miller said. “Your game is not always going to go good on offense. How you can impact any game on either side of the ball is defense. It’s small plays like diving on the floor, taking the charges, getting rebounds. I just started taking charges when I got to college. So, giving my body up can go real far.
