Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe has made the final decision on his future and will declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. He announces the news on Instagram on Thursday.

This comes following two straight seasons where Milroe was the primary starter for the Crimson Tide, under head coaches Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer. During that time, he was able to overcome adversity to become one of the best quarterbacks who is going to be available in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Milroe spent four seasons with the Alabama program. However, since he took a redshirt as a freshman, he had the option to return to college for the 2025 season.

In the 2024 regular season, Milroe led the Crimson Tide to a 9-3 record. That came a season after he helped Alabama win the SEC and make it to the four-team College Football Playoff. Over the course of that 2024 season, he completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. That is 218.8 passing yards per game. Milroe also ran for 726 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns during the season.

For Milroe, his best individual game of the season came in September when Alabama hosted Georgia. In that win, Milroe had 374 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 117 yards and another two touchdowns in that game.

Milroe would go on to play in the ReliaQuest Bowl for Alabama. However, he struggled in that game, turning the ball over three times in the first quarter with an interception and two fumbles. He completed 16 of 32 passes for 192 yards and he did have a touchdown. However, a final drive to try and take the lead late came up short for an Alabama loss.

In 2024, Milroe was the winner of the William V. Campbell Trophy. That is awarded to an individual who is the absolute best in the nation for their combined academic success, football performance, and exemplary leadership.

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. recently ranked Milroe as the third-best available quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. He is only behind Shedeur Sanders of Colorado and Cam Ward of Miami. However, with the entire draft process coming up, he could potentially move up from his current position as time goes on.
