Report: All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner signing with Los Angeles Rams
Bobby Wagner has decided he’ll be joining the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. On Thursday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport confirmed the news, detailing the monster contract the Rams are giving the former Seattle Seahawks star.
“The #Rams give LB Bobby Wagner a 5-year, $50M contract that can be worth up to $65 million,” tweeted Rapoport. “After weeks of talking, Wagner lands back in the division as he wanted.”
Additionally, former teammate and star cornerback Richard Sherman chronicled Wagner’s decision. Evidently, the Baltimore Ravens made it a tough decision, but Wagner couldn’t pass up the Rams.
“The rich get richer!” tweeted Sherman. “Lose future HOF @VonMiller and gain future HOF @Bwagz. The @Ravens made a last min push but the Reigning champs @RamsNFL were too good to pass up.”
After a decade of putting Seattle on his back, Bobby Wagner will now be trying to defeat the Seahawks twice a season. As for the Rams, as Richard Sherman said — the rich get richer.

After the news originally broke that Wagner would no longer be a Seahawk after 10 years with the franchise, long-time head coach Pete Carroll addressed the situation with a heartfelt tribute to his former player.
“Bobby is one of the great Seahawks of all-time. His leadership in the community, locker room, and on the field is a tribute to his character and consistency. Bobby set an incredible example. We will continue to follow him all the way to the Hall of Fame,” Carroll said Wednesday.
Additionally, the move coincides with former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson being traded from the franchise.
Both Wilson and Wagner joined the Seattle Seahawks in the 2012 NFL Draft class and won a Super Bowl together under head coach Pete Carroll. With Wilson’s departure, Wagner became the final member of the championship team still with the Seahawks without a stint away, but that’s over now.
