Allen Robinson believes he has a lot left in the tank as he begins first year in Pittsburgh
Despite nine years of NFL experience, Allen Robinson feels like he’s just getting started. The 2015 Pro Bowler discussed his future on a recent episode of “The Rich Eisen Show.”
“I have a lot more. Like you said before, I’m going into my 10th year, but at the end of the day, I’m 29,” Robinson said. “I’ve learned to be able to improve in the areas that I need to, and I’ve learned how to do that.”
New territory
Robinson has had plenty of learning to do this offseason. On April 18, the Los Angeles Rams traded Robinson and the No. 251 seventh-round pick in the 2023 draft to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the No. 254 selection. The harsh reality of a brutal business.
Robinson only played in 10 games last season after suffering a season-ending foot injury, which required surgery. In his limited time, Robinson recorded 33 receptions and 339 yards. In his career, Robinson has amassed 528 receptions for 6748 yards.
Robinson insists the glamorous results are the product of relentless focus.
“I take my workouts, I take my training, I take my practices, I take everything like that serious. For me, it’s always football. It’s always how can I continue to improve myself. Things like last season are not something that I’m bitter about. It’s not something that I’m upset about,” Robinson said.

Allen Robinson is his own competition
If Robinson was upset by what the Rams did to him, he’ll have a chance for vengeance. The 6-foot-2 wide receiver and the Steelers will face off against the LA Rams in Week 7 on Oct. 22. Nonetheless, Robinson claims he isn’t concerned about the past. He simply wants to reach new heights in the future.
“How can I continue to push this ball forward and continue to improve myself?” Robinson said. “It’s not anybody from the outside or any outside noise. It’s just me versus me.”
The people of Pennsylvania will support Robinson every step of the way. Robinson is a Penn State legend, winning the 2012 Big Ten Richter Howard Receiver of the Year Award in his final season with the Nittany Lions. Robinson is excited to represent the Quaker State once again.
“Hearing everything about the Steelers organization, going back to Pennsylvania, I thought that would be a cool thing, once I got wind of that… what I needed to do on my end to get that done, I was willing to do,” Robinson said.
