Once again, Ally Racing is celebrating Pride Month with a special Alex Bowman scheme. This one will hit the track at Sonoma Raceway. As the month of June continues and the NASCAR Cup Series heads out west once again, there will be a nice new paint scheme on the No. 48 Chevy.

There isn’t much difference between the usual Ally scheme and this new Pride Month scheme. The car remains purple for the most part with some teal and magenta stripes fading to the back. The hood is white with the Ally logo and slogan “Better Together.”

The Ally logo on the hood is donned in the colors of the Pride flag. Representing LGBTQ+ “allyship” for the month of June, Ally Racing was excited to announce this one.

“On and off the track, we are all better together,” the tweet says. “We’re proud to continue our journey of LGBTQ+ allyship with NASCAR and are celebrating Pride Month with a special scheme at [Sonoma Raceway].”

The race in Sonoma is the last trek out west before the playoffs return to Las Vegas and Phoenix in the fall. Alex Bowman is going to try and get his Ally Chevy into Victory Lane for the first time. What better time than in a new paint scheme?

Alex Bowman finds mixed results in return to NASCAR

After fracturing a vertebra earlier this year, Alex Bowman has been struggling a little bit. Now, it has only been two races, I know that. In fact, his Coca-Cola 600 performance was admirable as he raced to a P12 result.

It takes a bit to get back into form. But based on how consistent Bowman was to start the season, the P26 at WWT Raceway this Sunday was likely a letdown. Yes, Hendrick Motorsports struggled as a whole for most of the day. But that is little consolation for a driver trying to make the playoffs.

Then again, if Bowman does return to that early-season form, he could turn things around in a hurry. There was a point where the Hendrick driver was pulling top-5s and top-10s almost every single week.

They say when you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, you race good. So, maybe a fresh paint scheme is all Alex Bowman needs to get himself back into contention week in and week out. The next step is at Sonoma Raceway.
