Amarius Mims injury: Bengals OT carted off field after going down vs. Ravens
Bengals offensive tackle Amarius Mims had to be carted off the field after suffering an injury in the second half of Cincinnati’s game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Mims was injured on a routine halfback toss but came up hobbling after trying to block his defender on the play. His teammates came out to console him as the athletic training staff prepped him for the cart. Despite the apparent injury, he returned to the field with less than four minutes left in regulation.
“The 21-year-old, who has taken the place of the injured Trent Brown and has excelled since entering the starting lineup, has a left ankle injury he is questionable to return,” CBS sideline reporter Melanie Collins reported. “He had tight rope surgery on his left ankle in September of [2023] when he was at Georgia, so a history of issues with that left ankle. It’ll be Cody Ford in there at right tackle in the interim.”
During the report, Mims was seen sitting on the sidelines with his helmet off despite having to use to cart to take him to the locker room. While he hasn’t returned to the field as of this report, he was back on the sideline before the end of the third quarter.

Mims, a former first-round draft choice out of Athens this past April, has already suffered an injury during his rookie season. During training camp, Mims suffered a strained pectoral muscle and was sidelined for multiple weeks.
They’ll hope he can get back soon, as they have high hopes for the former Bulldog. This offseason, the Bengals signed Mims to a four-year contract worth $15.37 million, with a signing bonus of $7.99 million. As a first-round draft pick, Mims’ rookie deal comes with a fifth-year option for the Bengals.
The Bengals will choose whether or not to exercise Mims’ fifth year after his third season in the league, so staying healthy will likely be a priority for him moving forward. His contract is fully guaranteed.
