Andy Dalton injury update: Panthers QB appears on Wednesday practice report
Carolina Panthers (1-2) quarterback Andy Dalton appeared on the team’s Wednesday injury report with an ankle injury.
Dalton was listed as a full participant in practice.
The 36-year-old is coming off a highly impressive showing in Carolina’s 36-22 Week 3 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders (1-2), his first start in place of Bryce Young, benched by head coach Dave Canales after Week 2. Dalton completed 26-of-37 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns, becoming the first quarterback this season to throw for 300 plus yards and three touchdowns in a single game. Dalton’s play earned him FedEx Air and Ground Player of the Week honors.
“I got a chance to just be me and play and to be out there how I normally am,” Dalton said after the game, via the Panthers’ website. “I’m normally pretty calm; I’m normally relaxed. You know, guys were having fun. I was trying to make sure the guys were having fun because you put in a ton of work for this thing, and for you to get out there, it’s like now you get time to just go and enjoy the work that you put in.
“And it makes it nice when the day goes like it did today. And they’re not all going to go like this, but when they do, you’ve got to enjoy that.”
