Andy Reid reveals he met White House chefs during Super Bowl celebration: 'They do a heck of a job back there'
For the second straight season, head coach Andy Reid led the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory. With that, he was able to take the team back to the White House to celebrate once again.
Recently, Reid was asked about the trip to the White House while he was at a press conference. There, he was questioned about which year had the better food on offer for the team.
“They do a great job,” Andy Reid said. “I had a chance to meet all the chefs. They do a heck of a job back there. So, I would say it’s a jump ball between the two years. It’s all good.”
While Andy Reid wasn’t necessarily interested in deciding which year had the better food overall, he did share what his individual favorite food was during this most recent year’s event.
“They had a fish,” Reid said. “Some fried fish that was like fish tots. Everything was bite-sized. So, that gets dangerous.”
Food and Andy Reid have gone together over the years. That includes in commercials where he appeared alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes while eating food used to explain insurance to him. He’s also been known as a cheeseburger connoisseur, sharing his top three burgers ahead of the Super Bowl, where In-N-Out took the top spot. However, he also called the burger celebrity chef Guy Fieri sent him the best he’s had.

Kansas City Chiefs sign head coach Andy Reid, GM Brett Veach and President Mark Donovan to contract extensions
With the success Kansas City has had in recent seasons, it’s no surprise the team signed Andy Reid, GM Brett Veach, and President Mark Donovan to contract extensions. Those extensions were something team Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt announced.
“Mark, Brett and Andy have achieved historic success together, and we are thrilled that they will continue in their roles for many years to come,” Hunt said.
“Individually, Mark, Brett and Andy each represent the best in the National Football League at their respective positions, and together, they make up one of the finest leadership teams in all of professional sports. They have been tremendous leaders for this organization on and off the field, and we look forward to their continued success in the years ahead.”
