Andy Reid doesn’t mind providing his insight when it comes to food. The Kansas City Chiefs head coach has made it pretty well known that he has a great love for cheeseburgers and some of the other finer culinary experiences in life.

When the NFL champions made their visit to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LVII victory, the menu didn’t include Reid’s favorite dish. But that doesn’t mean the chef served up a bad meal. Far from it, actually.

Reid was asked by reporters if he could talk about the menu at the White House. The head coach was a pretty big fan of the selection in Washington, D.C.

“Yeah, so, they did have some good stuff,” Reid said. “I had never had this before, so a French Toast, grilled cheese and ham sandwich that they sprinkle a little bit of powdered sugar on. It was phenomenal. There was an abundance of those.

“And then they had chicken fingers, exotic chicken fingers. And then, maybe the best part, little bite-sized squares of the heart of the watermelon. My hat went off to the chef.”

It sounds like a pretty strong menu for the world champs. Or at least one that Reid really loved.

Reid also mentioned that he spoke with the chef following the meal, a real cool thing for the longtime NFL head coach to do. It probably gives him even more incentive to win another Super Bowl, knowing he could potentially dine at the White House again next year.

Mahomes blocks Kelce from speaking at White House

While Reid was enjoying the special menu at the White House, tight end Travis Kelce tried to sneak his way to the podium and address the crowd attending the event. That’s when Patrick Mahomes showed some true leadership.

The league MVP ushered Kelce away from the microphone before the tight end could say … well … God knows what. We already know that when the cameras are rolling, the tight end could say anything.

Smart play by a veteran to block Kelce from getting comfortable behind the podium.

President Joe Biden had some strong compliments for the Chiefs and Mahomes. Although, we’re not sure if it’s because of his play on the field or the quick-thinking to get his tight end away from the mic.

“You got a young quarterback named Patrick – boy can play, man,” Biden said. “Two-time MVP, comeback king, the only player in history with a winning record when down by 10 points or more. We saw him play with that high ankle sprain – another legendary chapter in the story of one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation, and I predict of any generation.”
