Ever since a scare from South Sudan in pre-Olympic action, Team USA has been on a tear at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. And star Anthony Edwards is making a meal of it.

In a game against Puerto Rico, Edwards helped Team USA establish a big early lead. Then he delivered some dynamism.

In the beginning of the fourth quarter, Edwards came away with a ball on a breakaway. With no defenders around, he decided to put on for the crowd. And, boy, did he ever.

He threw down a monster windmill dunk, making it look seemingly effortless. Then he eyed the crowd. Check it out below.

Anthony Edwards had 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting. A pretty spectacular day for a pretty spectacular player. Though Edwards was as much focused on who he gets to play with as anything else.

“Hell yeah, hell yeah. I mean they the top three of the greatest three players ever, so the fact that they was letting me put on a show shows a lot,” Edwards told NBC’s Mike Tirico. “Shows their character, man, that they’re willing to do anything to win the game.”

With its strong play so far in the group stage, Team USA is looking excellent to advance in quality position. The team started off with a 110-84 win over Serbia, then knocked off South Sudan 103-86 in a rematch of that pre-Olympic tune-up scare.

Team USA will take the top overall seed entering the knockout rounds as a result of being 3-0.

As for Anthony Edwards, he’s been a solid contributor throughout the tournament. He chipped in seven points and eight rebounds in the Serbia game, then added eight points and seven rebounds against South Sudan.

Needless to say, his explosion against Puerto Rico was a welcome one. The more stars Team USA has firing on all cylinders into the knockout rounds the better.

“It’s the best feeling ever, man. Growing up, watching KD and Bron go at it in the finals, and then watching Steph and Bron go at it in the Finals, it’s a dream come true that I get to play alongside those guys, so I’m making the most of it.”

Team USA’s opponent for the knockout round has not yet been set, with further games to be played in the group stages to help determine that.
