Anthony Richardson won the broad jump, the vertical jump and the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine on Saturday. That meant there was only one more thing left to do: show off his arm.

He did just that — and it was a thing of beauty.

Richardson threw some beautiful deep ball passes during the throwing portion of the combine, earning quite the reaction from commentators Rich Eisen and Daniel Jeremiah in the process. It was quite the exclamation point on an impressive day for the former Florida star, who’s hoping to hear his name called early on in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Richardson set multiple records on Saturday with his a 40.5″ vertical jump and a 10’9″ broad jump — topping the previous quarterback marks in both events. Then, he stepped up to the 40-yard dash and ran it in 4.43 seconds. It’s easy to see why he thought one attempt was enough.

Richardson is one of the most interesting prospects on the draft board after an up-and-down 2022 season at Florida. Although Bryce Young and CJ Stroud are widely expected to be the top two quarterbacks to hear their names called, Richardson is making quite a case to go early on, as well.

ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. projected Richardson to go No. 9 overall to the Seattle Seahawks in a mock trade with the Carolina Panthers. That would make him the fourth quarterback off the board, but Kiper said his skill set makes him an intriguing option if a team decides to trade down to select him.

“Running threat supreme,” Kiper said. “Tremendous dual-threat. Passing needs to improve. The accuracy? He missed layups. Easy throw. He’s bouncing right, bouncing left. He needs to go to Josh Allen’s guy and get help in that area.

“I would go right to Josh and say ‘Who helped you? I want to work with those guys on a daily basis. Physically, athletically, toughness-wise — he’s a heck of a talent. He’s boom or bust but let me tell you what.”
