Anton Harrison getting work at right tackle with Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are getting what they expected from first-round draft pick Anton Harrison and it’s a good thing they are. Starting left tackle Cam Robinson‘s suspension left the team vulnerable right when they were gaining some momentum in the division.
ESPN’s insider reports from the end of minicamp and OTAs reveal that Harrison is ready to rise to the challenge and potentially start at right tackle in September.
“The Jaguars have put Harrison at right tackle, and the expectation is he’ll be the opening-day starter if left tackle Cam Robinson is suspended for violating the PED policy and Walker Little moves from right tackle to left,” Jaguars insider Michael DiRocco shared. “Harrison got some solid reps against outside linebacker Josh Allen in minicamp and more than held his own, but the bigger test will come when the pads come on in camp.”
“He just stands out,” Allen said of the rookie lineman this offseason. “Quick, good feet. That’s one thing you want to look into is how good his feet are, and he’s real good at his feet. So I think once he gets comfortable in the scheme and gets comfortable working with all four of the other guys up front, I think he’s going to be a heck of a player.”
The No. 27 overall pick out of Oklahoma played and started almost all of his games for the Sooners at left tackle. However, he did start one game at right tackle, which was in the season opener last year versus UTEP.
Cam Robinson suspended to start 2023 season
Cam Robinson’s suspension by the league was a big blow for the Jaguars’ 2023 campaign before it even started. Expectations are still on the rise, howeverm coming off their exciting 2022 campaign.

Alabama WR to transfer
Jacksonville finished with a 9-8 overall record last year in the regular season. Then, after beating the Chargers, they battled to a 27-20 playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Divisional Round.
Robinson, a former star at Alabama, has appeared in 75 games during his six-year career in the league so far. The Jags snapped him up at No. 34 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft after he made a name for himself with the Crimson Tide.
Last year, Robinson started in 14 games at left tackle, with 2022 second-round left tackle Walker Little taking the other five starts for the Jaguars.
Robinson tore his meniscus in December last season, which pushed Little into the lineup for the final three weeks of the regular season and both of the Jaguars’ playoff games.
