Arby’s took a shot at Bubba Wallace and McDonald’s during the NASCAR Cup Series Chicago Street Race. On X/Twitter, Arby’s shared a photo of Wallace’s 23 McDonald’s Toyota spinning earlier in the race in front of Arby’s signage.

“He had to do a McDoubleTake,” Abry’s wrote in the post, implying that Wallace was admiring the Arby’s signage. The good news for Wallace was that he bounced back during the race and got into the top 10. However, the 31-year-old finished 28th after Alex Bowman spun him during the final laps of the race.

McDonald’s has been a longtime sponsor of Wallace and 23XI Racing. Having the support of McDonald’s is huge for Wallace, who is looking for his first victory since the 2022 season. In the last three races, Wallace has finished 36th, 22nd and 28th, and is on the verge of being out of the playoff picture for the second consecutive year.

Bubba Wallace is feeling the pressure to win

Earlier this year, Wallace talked about how he needed to win more to help NASCAR grow. “I need to win,” Wallace said on The Breakfast Club show. “There you go. I think that’s the easiest way to go about it. I need to win. Golf didn’t change too much, but Tiger [Woods] was dominant and created a lot of buzz. I’ve only had two wins in my eight years being in Cup. To me, that’s unacceptable.

“The way that we’ve been performing this year, last two races finishing third, two spots away from doing just that. I’ll take full responsibility in helping that.”

Bubba Wallace has been with 23XI Racing since the team launched in 2021. In September, Wallace signed a contract extension with 23XI, which is co-owned by NASCAR veteran Denny Hamlin and NBA legend Michael Jordan.

“From day one Bubba has been an integral part of 23XI,” the team said in a social media post after the contract signing. “We’re excited to announce that he has signed a multi-year renewal and will continue to play a key role in helping 23XI grow and succeed.
