ARCA champion Andres Perez de Lara signs full-time Truck Series deal with Spire Motorsports
The 2024 ARCA Menards Series champion is heading to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Andres Perez de Lara will race for Spire Motorsports in the No. 77 Chevy Silverado for 2025, teaming up with Rajah Caruth.
Andres Perez de Lara became the first foreign-born ARCA champion in 2024. Now he will have his eyes set on the Craftsman Truck Series. With Spire, he’s going to be in great equipment to get the job done, too.
Last year, Perez de Lara made his Truck Series debut with Spire. He finished P9 at Gateway with an impressive effort. Coming up through the NASCAR Mexico ladder, Perez de Lara has made the transition to the United States.
Is he Mexico’s next big thing in the sport?
Of course, the obvious comparisons will be made with Daniel Suárez due to their shared heritage. But Andres Perez de Lara is his own man and driver. However, it wouldn’t be bad to become an Xfinity Series champion one day. He will have sponsorship from Telcel, Infintium, and Claro for 2025. Expect Gainbridge to also be involved since he’s a Spire driver.
Perez is only 19 years old. He has a lot of time to develop. After Chase Purdy plateaued in this seat, a fresh driver and face for the 77 is a good move for Spire.

Andres Perez de Lara taking on Truck Series in 2025
Spire Motorsports has made a lot of good moves in 2025. They are opening up their development program, signed teenage phenom Tristan McKee. Corey Day tested an ARCA car under the Spire banner at Daytona and he may race in a Spire car later this season. Not to mention a Spire truck, that No. 7 all-star truck.
When Gainbridge and Group 1001 came into the picture, Spire Motorsports changed. Almost overnight. They have expanded to three teams in the Cup Series, opened a development program, and are maintaining a strong Truck Series program as well.
Hendrick Motorsports clearly has an interest in seeing Spire improve. Those two organizations are more or less intertwined. HendrickCars is a major sponsor. Justin Haley allegedly has a Hendrick contract.
Andres Perez de Lara is going to a great team in 2025. Spire Motorsports appears ready to take that next step in all of the series they compete in right now. The rookie will have to earn his place, but crew chief Chad Walter will be a great guiding hand.
