ARCA Menards Series qualifying at Phoenix canceled, will attempt to practice

The rain would not let up and the ARCA Menards Series at Phoenix will now not go through a qualifying session due to the weather. Officials are hoping that they can get a practice session in before the race tonight.
Having practice for the ARCA race at Phoenix is important. When these young, developing drivers don’t get a practice session it can lead to poor racing.
Practice was delayed earlier. Qualifying will not be done tonight. Officials are setting the field by rotating the 2024 owner points for ARCA and the ARCA West Series. It will be an interesting starting lineup, for sure.
The combined field for the ARCA Menards Series and West Series makes for a fun event. You get those West Coast racers going up against the full-time national series drivers. You can see a small-time racer make a name for themselves against the JGRs and Venturinis and PRGs.
Brent Crews is going to start on the pole tonight for the ARCA Menards Series race at Phoenix. His Joe Gibbs Racing car has the most owners points from 2024, thanks to William Sawalich, and he will be a hard driver to beat. He doesn’t turn 17 until March 30.
Isabella Robusto and Brenden Queen will start P8 and P9, respectively. Corey Day will have a heck of a time coming from the back in P29 of 34. That’s a tough drive to make.
ARCA practice at Phoenix delayed
Things are already off to a wet start in Phoenix as the ARCA Menards Series waits out the rain and postpones practice as a result. There is a mixed ARCA field with the West Series as well meaning we will see plenty of talent on the track.

Right now the forecast does not look good for practice. We likely could get qualifying in tonight. However, the most important thing is starting the race on time. With about 3.5 hours until the green flag, there isn’t much time to dry the track and do practice/qualifying as usual.
The officials at NASCAR and ARCA are going to get as much on-track activity as possible. Tune in at 8:00 PM EST on FS1 to watch the action tonight.
