Arizona Cardinals select Jordan Burch in third round of 2025 NFL Draft

The Arizona Cardinals have selected former Oregon Ducks EDGE rusher Jordan Burch in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. After five seasons at the college level at both Oregon and South Carolina, Burch is now set to make the jump to the professional level.
Burch played the last two seasons for the Oregon Ducks under Dan Lanning after transferring from his hometown South Carolina Gamecocks. In 2024, Burch logged 31 tackles, including 11 tackles for loss with 8.5 sacks, 5 pass breakups and a forced fumble. He ultimately played in 10 games with nine starts after missing four games.
In 2023, his first in Eugene, Burch led team with 7.5 TFLs and played in all 14 games. He made 13 starts, logging 34 tackles and three sacks. For his effort, Burch was given an All-Pac-12 honoradble mention.
His most productive season came the previous year, however. In what would be his final season playing for the Gamecocks, he logged a career-best 60 tackles, including 7.5 TFLs to go with 3.5 sacks, and three PBUs. Burch played 34 games for South Carolina across three seasons. In total, he has 57 games of college football under his belt across five seasons.
Before college, Burch was a Five-Star-Plus+ recruit out of Columbia, SC, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 11 overall player in the 2020 class, and the No. 1 EDGE rusher in his cycle.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Jordan Burch
Now that Jordan Burch has been drafted, fans may be wondering what to expect from their new EDGE rusher. NFL Draft analyst Lance Zierlein provided his analysis of the former five-star recruit.
Zierlein: “Burch’s tape can be inconsistent, but he offers physical traits and upside as a rusher. As a run defender, his length and play strength flashes, but he simply doesn’t play with the block destruction or aggression you want to see for a player of his size. As a pass rusher, he’s a more energetic player with good get-off, long strides and the bend to turn the corner or unleash a bull-rush.
“He needs to work on adding skill to his hands and becoming more creative as a rusher to create quick wins. Burch leaves too many plays on the field, but the upside will have teams anxious to light the fire and get more out of him.”
