Arizona Cardinals select Kei'Trel Clark in sixth round of 2023 NFL Draft
The NFL dream is being realized for Kei’Trel Clark, as the former Liberty Flames and Louisville Cardinals defensive back was selected with the No. 180 overall pick in the sixth of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
Clark spent his freshman season with the Flames, where he amassed 40 total tackles, two sacks and one pass deflection. However, he felt his play was needed by the Cardinals, and took his talents to Louisville following his freshman season.
That’s where he spent the next three seasons of his collegiate career. Over his time at Louisville, Clark amassed 127 total tackles, five interceptions and one sack. Against some of the best competition the ACC had to offer, the defensive back showed out, helping the Cardinals defense stay solid.
Now, he’s hoping his game will translate to the next level. While he’s been overlooked throughout his collegiate career, his play has been more than solid, and the future is bright for Clark.
Nevertheless, teams are always looking for cornerbacks, and Clark’s reliable play will get his foot in the door. He’s going to have ample opportunities to make a name for himself.
But for now, Kei’Trel Clark can enjoy the thrill of realizing his dream of making it to the NFL, with many beautiful days ahead of him.

“Clark is small but fast,” wrote Zierlein. “He plays with twitchy feet and a competitive demeanor when challenging the throw. He’s capable of stalking short and intermediate routes with a feel for the passing lane, but his lack of size and length shows up down the field.
“While the ball skills and athletic traits work in his favor, trouble with run support and big slot targets could be difficult obstacles to overcome in the NFL.”
Additionally, Zierlien listed Clark’s strengths as follows, “Able to sink hips and phase comeback routes. Plus burst and top-end speed to close on throws. Excellent hustle and competitiveness at catch point. Overlaps zone coverage to make a play on the ball.”
After a fruitful couple of seasons with Louisville, Kei’Trel Clark will hope to translate his talents into a successful NFL career, with all of Cardinals faithful rooting for him.
