Arkansas freshman point guard Boogie Fland has mde up his mind. Fland will forgo his final three seasons of collegiate eligibility and enter the 2025 NBA Draft, he announced on his personal Instagram on Friday afternoon.

“Thank you to all my fans and supporters, this year has been nothing short of unforgettable. Returning to the team for March Madness and competing alongside my brothers was an experience I’ll cherish forever,” Fland wrote on Instagram. “Much love to Razorback Nation, Coach Calipari and the entire coaching staff, and every one of my teammates for believing in me. To my family, especially my mom and dad, thank you for all of the sacrifices you’ve made for me to be in this position. I couldn’t have done it without you. With that being said, I’m officially declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft.”

As he mentioned, the 6-foot-2 Fland battled back from a season-ending hand injury suffered in mid-January to help the Razorbacks (22-14) in the 2025 NCAA Tournament but struggled in his return. Fland averaged just four points, two rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals during Arkansas’ run to the Sweet 16.

It was a short-lived tenure for Fland at Arkansas. Fland’s NBA Draft decision comes less than a full calendar year after he committed to Arkansas, following first-year Razorbacks coach John Calipari to Fayetteville after leaving Kentucky.

Fland was a four-star prosect, the No. 19 overall recruit and top-ranked point guard in the 2024 recruiting cycle out of Archbishop Stepinac (Harlam, NY), according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Fland was also a McDonald’s All-American last year and participated in the Nike Hoop Summit and the Jordan Brand Classic.

Fland originally committed to Kentucky and Calipari in October 2023 before signing in that November as part of what was the then-No. 2 signing class in the country, according to On3’s 2024 Industry Basketball Team Recruiting Rankings. However, once Calipari left to lead the ‘Hogs, Fland re-opened his recruitment and joined several fellow commits in following Coach Cal to Arkansas.

Despite being limited to just 21 games in the 2024-25 season due to injury, Fland managed to average 13.5 points on 37.9% shooting, 5.1 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in his lone collegiate season. On3 draft expert James Fletcher III ranked Fland at No. 37 overall in his latest NBA Draft Big Board Top 75 ranking, citing his season-ending hand injury for his slide.

“Boogie Fland suffered a season-ended injury which hurt his ability to improve draft stock until at least offseason workouts,” Fletcher wrote. “The Arkansas guard performed well in the minutes he played, but a lack of team success and lack of game-changing size at 6-foot-2 land him here.”
