Ashton Jeanty had a magical season with Boise State in 2024, but will the Dallas Cowboys select him in the 2025 NFL Draft? On3 recently spoke to the 21-year-old running back who shared his thoughts about playing in Dallas this fall.

“I’m very confident and just that it’s the right fit,” Jeanty told On3. “So every team may not be the right fit, but I feel that the Cowboys would be a great fit in that they need a running back and a guy who’s been in that area, he’s around from there, that will just bring something special to the table. But who knows, it could go a different way. But I think I’m still pretty high on their board.”

Jeanty, who played high school football in Frisco, Texas, would be an interesting pick for the Cowboys who were ranked 27th in rushing offense this past season. The former Boise State star won the Maxwell Award, and Doak Walker Award in 2024 after rushing for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns on 374 carries. In 2023, Jeanty was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 1,347 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Jeanty will likely be selected in the first round as ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper has him ranked No. 7 in his latest big board rankings of 2025 draft prospects. As for where Jeanty will be drafted, CBS Sports has the Cowboys taking him at No. 12 overall in its latest mock draft.

Ashton Jeanty talks about being an ambassador for SAXX

No matter where Ashton Jeanty is drafted this spring, he will wear SAXX underwear on draft night. Jeanty is a new ambassador for SAXX and wore the underwear during the Heisman Trophy ceremony.

“I’ve been doing my thing on the field, changing the game, being a game changer on the football field, but SAXX has been a recent game changer in underwear,” Jeanty said. “So that collab kind of came about as that. Max Crosby being one of their main ambassadors, choosing me to be another one, being a part of the family. It’s been an awesome opportunity.”

When talking about what he likes most about SAXX, Jeanty said, “I think for me it’s the ballpark pouch just really makes it comfortable to wear throughout the day, working out, whatever it may be, in a suit. I wore them at the Heisman ceremony under my suit, so just really them being comfortable, and that’s a very big thing wearing underwear.”
