The 2025 season feels a long way away. However, as is often the case in the offseason, time is going to go by quickly. Before long, toe is going to meet leather in an intriguing non-conference matchup between the Auburn Tigers and the Baylor Bears.

The experts at FanDuel have already released an early point spread for that 2025 matchup. Auburn is currently a 1.5-point favorite for the game. The moneyline is set at -120 for the Tigers and +100 for the Bears. On top of that, the over-under line is currently set at 56.5 points for this non-conference matchup.

This is a Week 1 game and it’s set to be played at McLane Stadium, making it a home game for Baylor. Both the kickoff time and what network the game is going to be on for fans who can’t make it to the game is yet to be decided.

In the history of this series, Auburn and Baylor have played four times and the Bears hold a very slight lead in the series with a record of 2-1-1. The last time these two teams played was back in 1976, however, making it nearly five decades since these two teams met. Auburn’s only win in the series came in 1954, their first meeting.

2024 was a frustrating season for the Auburn Tigers. It was the second season for Hugh Freeze as the head coach at Auburn and the second second season the Tigers finished with a losing record. This time, the Tigers ended 5-7, missing out on a bowl game. That came amid a carousel of quarterbacks as the offense struggled. Now, there is an expectation that Freeze shakes things up at quarterback going into the 2025 season.

It seemed like Baylor was going to have a similarly challenging season following a 2-4 start and coming off a 3-9 2023 season. However, the Bears were able to turn things around and finished the regular season on a six-game winning streak to go to the Texas Bowl. That ended up being a loss but Baylor did go 8-5. Much of that success came when head coach Dave Aranda made a change at quarterback to go to Sawyer Robertson.

For the time being, Auburn is a slight favorite in this game. Of course, there is plenty of time for that to change with another Transfer Portal window, spring practice, and the entire summer to go before Week 1 comes around.
