Auburn vs. New Mexico odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch
The Auburn Tigers are looking to bounce back after dropping their game in Week 2 against the California Golden Bears with another non-conference game. This one is going to come against the New Mexico Lobos.
The Lobos started the season 0-2 but got a bye week in Week 2 to try and hit the reset button and prepare for their trip to Auburn. Still, the Tigers are a fairly clear favorite and FanDuel has Auburn as a 28.5-point favorite. Meanwhile, the over-under for the game is set at 61.5 points.
Those odds aren’t overly surprising given how the season has gone so far for each team. Now, as September marches on, the hope for both Auburn and New Mexico is that they’ll be able to find a way to get a win.

The Auburn Tigers came into the season hoping to take a step forward on the offensive side of the ball. However, in Week 2, the Tigers struggled on the offensive side of the ball and were only able to put up 14 points in their loss to Cal. In that game turnovers were a major issue with four interceptions and a fumble lost.

Until the offense can fix those issues, there’s going to be concerns about the team and quarterback Payton Thorne moving forward. At the same time, New Mexico has struggled to stop opponents’ passing attacks this season. In particular, it was the Lobos who gave up 422 passing yards, including 304 yards and four touchdowns from star receiver Tetairoa McMillan, when they played Arizona.
The bye week came at a vital time for New Mexico. In his first season as the head coach there, Bronco Mendenhall has seen his team lose a Week 0 game to Montana State before struggling to stop Arizona. That week off was a chance to reset and address some issues the Lobos have had.
For Auburn’s part, the loss to Cal left a bad taste in the team’s mouth. Bouncing back and getting back on track before SEC play begins is going to be important for the Tigers.
