Austin Cindric breaks down pranking Kevin Harvick during Charlotte rain delay
When rain strikes on the NASCAR circuit, drivers have to find some way to pass the time. Last week at Charlotte, Austin Cindric and Tyler Reddick decided to pull a harmless prank on fellow driver Kevin Harvick.
The duo made their way to Harvick’s bus during the rain delay and decided to redecorate the interior. Cindric and Reddick covered the inside with toilet paper while Harvick was in the broadcast booth.
But Cindric said the idea wasn’t his.
“As far as Kevin goes, I was very anti-TPing Kevin’s bus when they asked about it,” Cindric said. “I have to race against him 28 more times before he retires. It’s all funny for everyone else, but Tyler and I were like, ‘Eh, this probably not a good idea.’
“That ask came from above on doing that. They were all in on the joke. But, Kevin has a really nice bus — I could spend some days in there. I didn’t really want to leave. … It was fun, I don’t think it was too rough. I was actually more worried about the guy who was gonna have to clean it up.”
Cindric also explained that he checked with Harvick’s “clean up guy” to make sure the prank didn’t go too far. So, even though there was some vandalizing happening, at least they were polite about it.
Drivers had plenty of time on their hands last weekend in Charlotte. Rain delayed both the Xfinity and Cup Series races over the weekend, forcing NASCAR to bump both events to Monday.

Cindric, Reddick get revenge for Darrell Waltrip
What goes around, comes around. That’s the lesson Harvick learned last week at Charlotte. He’s not exactly new to this toilet papering business.
During last week’s broadcast, Harvick explained that he and reporter Matt Yocum used to toilet paper Darrell Waltrip’s bus during these rain delays. They also seemed to make themselves at home.
“When we started, it was all about having fun. … We used to toilet paper Darrell Waltrip’s motorhome,” Harvick said. “I used to go in there during these rain delays and eat his food out of his refrigerator. Myself and Matt Yocum, we would usually terrorize DW’s motorhome during any rain delay that we got.”
Unfortunately for Cindric and Reddick, Harvick made it clear that he didn’t have much of anything inside his bus over the weekend — including food. So, the two drivers couldn’t make themselves quite as comfortable as they would’ve liked.
